Segno della Natura

For a long period of time the relation between art and nature has been determined by the idea of imitation. Plato saw in mimesis the representation of nature. The metaphysical world of ideas, was exemplary for everything in life. A piece of art is only the imitation of nature and is not even directly related to the transparent, unchangeable and clear world of ideas. But if art is no part of nature because it imitates nature, where does it stand? Because it is clear to everyone that a piece of art is also something physical.
